In a bid to increase its “organisational agility”, Nintendo have combined the role of Nintendo President and Nintendo of America CEO. Satoru Iwata, the current President of Nintendo, will continue in the new combined role.
Former Nintendo of America CEO Tatsumi Kimishima has been appointed as General Manager of Nintendo Co Ltd, while Reggie Fils-Aime, the public face of Nintendo in the US, will remain in the role of President and COO of Nintendo America.
Confused? So are we. But apparently all of this makes decision making within the organisation much easier and quicker from start to finish. It also means that American Nintendo fans might see more of those kooky titles that would previously have only been released in Japan.
